Join us this September!
The Rotary Club of Quincy is proud to announce that they are hosting the third annual “MatchMakers of Hope” Walk. The event is a 2 mile walk designed to raise money that will be shared between the Rotary Club of Quincy and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The Rotary Club of Quincy will use the proceeds to sponsor the “MatchMakers of Hope” Bone Marrow drives. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society www.lls.org/il will use proceeds to fund their mission- cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma and improve the quality of life for patients and their families. Patient services include patient education programs, an information resource center, patient financial aid, family support groups, a first connection peer mentor program, and a back to school program for children with cancer. In 2007, the Information Resource Center had over 74,325 inquiries. More than 1.2 million booklets, brochures, videos, and posters were distributed. Monies raised through the walk help supply these resources.
The “MatchMakers of Hope” Walk is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 27, 2008, at Washington Park from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the walk kicking off at 7:00 p.m. Food, Fun and Family is the theme for the evening as we walk to celebrate lives touched by blood cancers.
